| You don't have to listen very hard to Sinéad O'Connor's music to hear that spiritual matters have always informed her work. Sinéad's entire twenty years of recordings have dealt with faith and religion in one form or another. Sinéad's latest project, Theology, is a 2-CD set that is the culmination of her musical quest. "Theology" is a word that refers to the study of the nature of God and religious truth. Theology is also Sinéad O'Connor's new release, and on it, she explores its title's topic with the songs presented in two ways: once on a disc with sparse, acoustic settings, and again on a second disc, which essentially is the same songs, given full musical production. I'm Jody Denberg, and during the next hour, we will talk with Sinéad about this ambitious undertaking, and sample many of its songs. Welcome to Something Beautiful: The Theology Conversation, and this is the first song from Theology; indeed, it's rightfully called "Something Beautiful." |
